The label is nautical, given the Mediterranean shore source of the vineyards. A crazy blend of grapes, yet the flavor is truly south-of-France. Medium-weight, and well-crafted.
Description
The grapes are grown in the Camargue near the mouth of the Rhone River, a region more famous for its fleur de sel than wine. Perhaps that’s why the price for this charming rosé is so reasonable. It’s a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, rather crazy for a south of France rosé, but not as much for the neighborhoods of Aix-en-Provence and Les Baux-de-Provence. Besides, here it just works. A well-crafted, medium-weight rosé that is a little tighter structured than most, sporting a kiss of saline in the flavor.
The Wine Country.
