Domaine De La Vieille Julienne 2022 Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Rhone Valley

This winery dates back to the 17^th century and is tucked away in the northern part of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, the cooler climate giving these wines a refinement and restraint that I know I have been craving in the southern Rhone for some time. Upfront fruit is assertive, as are the lovely herbal notes. There are some plummy vibes along with maybe a slight anise note, all with a nice richness but not over saturation. Great balance.
