Laura De Vito 2020 "Elle" Fiano di Avellino, Campania

Laura is a Fiano specialist from the Avellino region of Campania. She only produces four old vine Fiano wines; three single cru wines and this 'Elle' which is a blend of the three crus.  The grapes are harvested in mid-October; the fruit is destemmed and lightly pressed, then the resulting juice is fermented to dryness in stainless steel, at controlled temperature, using selected yeasts; it is then racked and aged on the fine lees for 9 months, bottled, and aged in the bottle for a further 15 months. This transparent winemaking method allows the character of Fiano grapes grown in this particular place to shine.  Her 'Elle' Fiano is concentrated, yet bright and fresh with plenty of fruit and aromatics as good Fiano should be.  The volcanic soils add plenty of zingy minerality and a slight salty quality.
