Lieu Dit 2023 Rose, Santa Barbara County

This is the second vintage where the winemaker at Lieu Dit opted to make his Rose from Loire Valley’s cherished Cabernet Franc and I have to say, I stand behind him completely on this decision. Extremely engaging aromatics of herbs and wild flowers. Less berry and melon than the Roses from Provence, here you get a little more backbone and tension, and I dig that in a sea of similar. Round in the mouth with enough curve to hold up to foods with some assertiveness.
