Meyer-Fonne 2019 Pinot Gris Reserve, Alsace

"When in doubt, go Pinot Gris" one of my regular responses when looking for a wine to pair with a dish that requires adequate body and fruit, but doesn't want oak or butter. This luscious Pinot Gris from Meyer-Fonne is a class act from first sniff to last drop. Stone fruit, melon, some flowering jasmine and citrus rind. Rich and layered on the palate with plenty of sexy curve and just enough acidity. Beautiful, long finish as well. From summer salads to grilled sausages this wine is a food friendly as they come.
