Nicolas Gaudry 2023 Pouilly Fume "Les Vignes de Berge", Loire Valley

With Sancerre becoming scarce, and pricy, I started to really look for other regions in the Loire Valley that offer amazing, mineral-rich, tangy Sauvignon Blanc to offer. One doesn’t need look too far to find Pouilly-Fume, and there are still plenty of small vigneron with wines to offer. I fell in love with this bottling by Nicolas Gaudry. The fruit here comes from all one plot with vines that are over 45 years old. Nice and dense with gobs of white grapefruit and flint. Clean and vibrant with a lifted green finish. Serve with anything you might want a splash of fresh lemon on.
