14 days worth of skin maceration for this Russian River Orange wine. Floral but rich, there is a lot going on in this wine.
Floral up front with hints of vanilla and cherry. The floralness is replaced with drier tannic characteristics that allow some subtle spice flavors to shine. Trying to pinpoint comparable wines to Orange wines can be tricky. And even though this is 93% Chardonnay (with 14 days skin contact), and just 7% Pinot Noir, the fruit from the Pinot comes out boldly and the creaminess of the Chardonnay adds richness, it reminds me of a Pinot Noir which has been aged in new oak.
