Pierre Peters N.V. Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut Cuvee de Reserve
Pierre Peters was part of our original set of grower Champagnes that we stocked twenty years ago. We were smitten with the rich baked apple, toasted bread and custard like creaminess, especially at the price, (was $31.99 back then). Over the years the domaine expanded and was sourcing some of their fruit from other growers and we noticed that the wines were changing and we were sort of feeling the growing pains. The wines were never not good, they were just a little inconsistent for a bit. That has made a massive turn around, in fact I can say without hesitation that the wines from Pierre Peters have never been better than they are now. Bursting with flowering orange blossom, roasted green apples, a fresh river of mineral all baked in a buttery crust. Long, mouth coating and tremendously loveable.
