Quinta do Popa 2017 'Black Edition' Douro Red, Portugal

This opulent, dry red from the Douro valley is made with traditional Port grapes and the aromas give you the sense it might be sweet like a Port but it's quite the opposite. Medium to full bodied, dense with blackberry and plum fruits and balanced with oak spice, leather, vanilla and earth.  Supple tannins add nice structure.
