Remi Leroy N.V. Rosé Champagne, France

Remi Leroy first studied winemaking in Bordeaux before returning to the family domaine, upon which he began selling less fruit to the big houses and began bottling under his own label. Another change was organic farming so this wine is both organic and vegan. They are located in the Aube region of Champagne which is in the southern part of Champagne, making Chablis their closest neighbor, with the same limestone soils. Made from 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay, vibrant pink color and with a very low dosage. Delicate red fruit, graceful toast, plenty of citrus rind and a touch of cream. Quite dry and the finish is full of tangy energy.
