Domaine Nicolas Rossignol 2021 Pernand Vergelesse Rouge 1er Cru "Les Fichots", Burgundy

Les Fichots is located on the mid slope, right in front of Corton Charlemange and is known for its red, iron-rich clay soils. The vines for this vintage are from 40 to 60 years in age, meaning there is plenty of concentration here. There is plenty of acid too so this wine does need some time and plenty of air so be sure to let it open up to let all those rose petals, black plum, cranberry and cassis really show themselves. Leaner on the palate with some added meaty notes along with all the fruit and flowers. Truly a lovely, and classic wine.
