Scaia 2021 Rosso, Veneto Italy - FEBRUARY'S WINE OF THE MONTH!

It’s rare to find an Italian red wine as velvety and easy-to-drink as this 100% Corvina from Valpolicella producer Tenuta Sant'Antonio. They produce this Scaia (SKY-yah) Rosso outside the rules of the Valpolicella DOC to offer an affordable, approachable, fresh wine that can pair well with a wide variety of foods and is versatile enough to be enjoyed throughout an entire meal from appetizers to entrees.

Valpolicella is an often-overlooked wine region in Northern Italy, just outside of Verona, that was once one of the most popular Italian red wines in the States.  This wine could be labeled as a Valpolicella DOC except that it uses 100% Corvina, without the addition of Rondinella as required by the appellation.
