Domaine de Durban 2024 Beaumes-De-Venise Rouge, Southern Rhone Valley

Durban sits atop a hillside in a vineyard paradise a few miles from Gigondas.  The estate has long been praised as the finest producer of Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise, a fortified sweet wine specialty of this microclimate.  In addition, the estate has always grown Rhone grapes, which recently were rewarded appellation status for Beaumes-de-Venise, elevating it from mere Cotes du Rhone.  This gorgeous, medium-weight red is made up of 70% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre—a real GSM—and it comes to you from Kermit Lynch imports at a very fair price.
