Chateau Soucherie 2025 Rose "L'astree", Loire Valley

This dry, mineral-driven Loire Valley rosé is produced from the red Loire grape Grolleau (70%) and Gamay (30%).  In the glass the wine shimmers with a pale salmon pink color and silver reflections.  The nose opens with aromas of wild strawberries, watermelon rind, and pink grapefruit, followed by hints of white pepper and crushed rose petals. On the palate, the wine is light-bodied and fresh, driven by brisk acidity and subtle texture. A saline snap and a faint herbal edge lift flavors of sour cherry, blood orange, and red currant. The finish is clean and dry, with a citrusy cut and a whisper of spice that enhances its drinkability and food-friendliness.  This Loire rosé pairs well with dishes that feature herbs, citrus, or light spices, and it can balance both lean proteins and vegetable-driven plates.--Winery notes
