Fratelli Carafoli N.V. L'Onesta Lambrusco di Sorbara Dry Rose, Lombardini Italy
Lambrusco—the serious kind—has been on a tear in recent years. Our customers are loving the bubbles, the distinctive flavors and the original taste of Italy’s best-selling category of wine. With the popularity of charcuterie boards and fine cheese platters, Lambrusco screams summer picnics, boat rides and backyard barbecues.
We recently came across this irresistible wild strawberry-colored, wild strawberry-smelling, wild strawberry-tasting Lambrusco, but there wasn’t enough available to make it a regular Wine of the Month. We bought all the importer had anyway—just 14 cases—figuring a whole bunch of our customers will ring in the summer with this delightful, celebratory classic.
Cantina Fratelli Carafoli was founded in Ravarino, a small village in Modena by Mauro Carafoli in 1919. Kilometers away from the town of Sorbara, Carafoli has excelled in the production of Lambrusco di Sorbara.
