Maury is a region mostly known for sweet wine made from Grenache. Since 2011, Maury Sec is now an appellation, and the dry wine from Roussillon is aromatic and powerful.
Description
Founded in 1816 and changing hands several times, Domaine Mas Amiel’s current stewardship began in 1999 with Olivier Decelle. Known for making the famous sweet wines of the region, Mas Amiel has now developed a range of dry wines aimed at an international market. Maury Sec achieved appellation status in 2011, and today the estate is one of the leading producers in Roussillon. Grenache is the main grape along with a local variety called Lledoner Pelut, a Grenache mutation. The nose is very fresh, offering floral notes of rose petal. From the first sip, the airy and powerful mouthfeel is seductive with its harmonious structure and its delicate alliance between roundness and finesse. This wine pairs wonderfully with poultry and veal.
