Domaine Berthoumieu 2017 Madiran "Charles De Batz", Viella, France

One of the most extracted and dark, dry red wines we have. Made from 90% Tannat and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, from 50-100 year old vines. This is a powerhouse of a red wine. Dark black fruit, coco, smoke and hints of dried herbs. Big and meaty with a sizeable blast of tannin. The 50% new oak adds to the intensity and girth of this chewy red. Serve with gamey and rich stewed meats.
