A crisp, minerally white wine from the Jacquere grape, a local variety of the Savoie region of France near the Swiss border. It has about a pure a taste as any wine you'll try.
Description

The Savoie region is an Alpine region in Eastern France neighboring Switzerland with many of its vineyards lying close to the Rhone River as it winds its way from Geneva southward.  Comprised of 10 hectares, Domaine Labbé is located 15km south of Chambéry, a village famous for its Vermouth and cheese.  Varieties are largely indigenous; the most widely planted white is Jacquère, the variety planted at Domaine Labbé which now is from 35+ year old vines and fermented and aged entirely in tank.  Roger Labbe’s Abymes is 100% Jacquère. While the appellation tolerates 10% of other grape varieties, Labbe chooses to feature the purity of this varietal in this bottling. A clean, dry white wine; tangy, chalky minerals and floral fruit flavors, it is a natural match for shellfish.

The Wine Country.
