Marion-Bosser N.V. Champagne Premier Cru Brut Tradition, Hautvillers, Marne
Marion Bosser is a small woman-run grower champagne house that makes small amounts of stylish bubblies. The Premier Cru brut is made of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir with an average vine age of 45 years. The Chardonnay is sourced from the premier cru village of Vertus in the Côte des Blancs. The Pinot Noir comes from fruit grown in the premiers crus villages of Hautvillers and Cumières. For this multi-vintage blend she uses 35% reserve wine from old oak foudres. It displays a Brilliant pale gold color with a fine, persistent bead. Clean and enticing aromas of biscuits, lemons, apple, white flowers and toast persist from the nose through the palate into a moderately long finish, offering up a balanced, mineral-laden and utterly classic champagne.
