Royal Tokaji 2017 Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos, Hungary 500ml

Tokaji Aszu is the legendary sweet wine praised by popes and kings.  Using dried bunches of botrytised Furmint grapes, the wine is evaluated for sweetness; 5 puttonyos historically meant it took five baskets of dried grapes to make enough juice to fill a cask.  Now it’s a measure of sweetness, in this case 5 puttonyos requires a minimum  120 grams per liter of residual sugar.  “Elegant nose with notes of fine pear, peach, acacia, honey and sweet spices.
