Chateau Latour is one of the oldest vineyards in the Medoc region of Bordeaux France. Created around 1680, Chateau Latour is located in the Medoc commune of Pauillac. Latour is an iconic wine, and is considered a 1st Growth (Premier Grand Cru Classe) in the 1855 Classification scheme. The chateau was central to the development of the Medoc, with the oldest documentation dated 1331. As a result of successive marriages and inheritances, Château Latour became the property of Alexandre de Ségur. He quickly acquired considerable properties in the Médoc. This is the beginning of the château's real wine history. Before his death in 1716, Alexandre de Ségur also acquired Château Lafite. His son, Nicolas-Alexandre (known as the Prince of Vines by Louis XV) further enlarged the family's estates in 1718 with the acquisition of plots from Mouton and Calon.

After further changes in ownership, in June 1993, François Pinault bought the Allied Lyons' stake via his holding company Artémis (luxury group, e.g. Gucci). He remains the current owner. Complete renovations of vineyards, winery and cellars have occurred under Mr. Pinault. Chateau Latour is also the first 1st Growth to be certified organic.

This is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominated blend with Merlot and Petit Verdot.
