Chateau Le Coteau 2020 Margaux, Bordeaux

Château Le Coteau is one of the only remaining family-owned properties in the Margaux appellation, producing a balanced, Cabernet-dominant red wine. Eric Léglise, the sixth generation of ownership, has been running the winery since 1993.  Most of Coteau’s plots border prestigious Grands Crus Classés.  Last year the 2018 vintage was a surprise hit for our store, and now the 2020 has been released.  With a bigger and denser flavor and texture, the 2020 displays more power, as you might expect from such an acclaimed vintage.  It remains a very good value in comparison to its more famous neighbors.  65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot.
