Chateau Mourgues Du Gres 2023 "Galets Rouges" Costieres De Nimes, Rhone Valley

Syrah, Grenache, Cinsaut, Carignan, Mourvedre and Marcellin all combine to make one of the most exciting red wines from the south of France.  This is a solid Mediterranean red with an uncharacteristic perfume of Syrah, not Grenache.  Fresh tasting, stony with a tannic grip, the wine has more minerality than most reds of the region.  The winery has some unconventional serving suggestions:  lasagna, eggplant parmesan, even Mexican food.
