Chateau Saint-Ahon 2016 Haut-Medoc "Cru Bourgeois", Bordeaux

We brought this fine red Bordeaux back in the store at over nine years of age.  Made up of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet franc, the wine spent 12 months in oak barrels, 20% new.  The rich appearance is at once elegant and viscous.  The aromas have begun their secondary development, integrating nicely with its fruit.  The ample texture suggests the wine is much more expensive than it is.  This is true Bordeaux, with the black licorice, chocolate and a touch of mint in its flavors.  It can go from our shelf directly to your table tonight.  Impressive.
