Just inland from the Mediterranean port of Bandol, east of Marseille, is Provence's most prestigious rose region. Here, Mourvedre is the towering red grape, and the statuesque wines have considerable depth for the region. Val d'Arenc is a fine example.
Description
This is a delightful Provençal rosé from an estate that is practicing biodynamic agriculture in a prestige region for rosé wines. Composed 80% of Mourvèdre, and 10% each of Grenache and Cinsaut, it exhibits a delightful floral aroma with a pleasing texture. There is an influence of stone fruit in the bright flavor. Terrific finish, too. Excellent rosé.
