Clos du Caillou 2024 Cotes du Rhone Vieilles Vignes "Cuvee Unique"

The same family that makes the prestige Vacheron Sancerres also produces this juicy, friendly old-vine Cotes du Rhone.  This wine was one of our early Rhone superstars because of its friendly nature.  Made from 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 5% Cinsaut and 5% Mourvedre, it is about as inviting as Cotes du Rhone gets.  The alcohol posted is 14%, but we detected little heat in the wine, just plenty of joyous pleasure.
