Famille Barraud 2024 Macon-Fuisse "Les Chailles", Burgundy

I have been searching for a white Burgundy near Pouilly-Fuissé that tastes like I remembered from the early 1970s, and I found it here!  The minerally aroma and flavor reflects the heavier limestone content in the soils, resulting in character not dissimilar to those from Chablis.  This is old school white Maconnaise, clean and minerally from start to the long, long finish.  Very Pouilly-Fuissé-like reminding me of those great wines before climate warming made most Pouilly-Fuissé-adjacent wines overly fruity and a bit flabby.  The Barraud family estate in the exclusive Vergisson area was established in 1905 and recently had their vineyards certified organic.  Excellent wine.
