Domaine Berthet-Rayne 2022 Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Rhone Valley - Half Bottle

This handsome red Rhone is almost a throwback to when Chateauneuf was a classic dinner wine instead of an over-ripe, over-the-top statement wine.  It avoids the big, black flavors in favor of complex, interesting traditional flavors with perhaps some faint hints of anise.  Drinking this wine makes me want a roasted leg of lamb!
