This is the big brother to Chevallier Bernard's popular Jongieux. Bernard's Roussette (also known as Altesse) is a little fuller in the mouth, but still retains its Alpine freshness.
Description
When you encounter Savoyard Rousette de Savoie (the local name for the Altesse grape is Rousette), you still have a minerally, fresh-tasting wine of the mountains, only with a bit more amplitude and complexity than those whites made from Jacquere. This medium-weight version is laid-back and pleasant, satisfied to be what it is.
