Domaine De Bel-Air "Briante" 2022 Brouilly, Beaujolais

Unlike Côte de Brouilly, the imposing hillside “cru” of Beaujolais, the “cru” of Brouilly is a flatter area surrounding the mountain.  As such the wines from Brouilly usually lack the depth of the Côte, so it brings me great pleasure when I can discover a Brouilly that delivers as much joy as the Domaine de Bel-Air.  Proprietors Jean Marc and his wife Yannick Lafont crafted their organically grown grapes into a plush textured, satisfying red wine, full in the mouth with flavors of crushed berries and a touch of dark chocolate.  Bravo.
