Muscadet, which has been described as “a cold mountain stream rushing fast over rocks”, is France’s favorite wine to wash down raw oysters.  The nearly electric acidity and minerally flavor is just the right tangy-tart white wine for the job.  This 2024 vintage is a tasty Muscadet with just the right amount of fruit, balanced with a cleansing acidity.  The Ollivier family have been vignerons since 1723 and they do it right.  Aromas of grapefruit rind, white flowers and crushed oyster shells.  There is ripe fruit flavors with a nervous taut core.  Refreshing and vibrant, ideal with fresh shellfish, but also fine with sushi and alone as a crisp and fresh-tasting aperitif.
