Domaine Des Amadieu 2021 Cairanne Vieilles Vignes, Rhone

Beginning with the 2015 vintage, Cairanne has been elevated to appellation status, joining Rasteau, Vacqueyras and Gigondas as leaders in Southern Rhone red wines.  Only 25 cases of this old vine red wine were brought to the U.S., and we had to grab it for you.  With a gorgeous ruby appearance, the flavor is complex with notes of plum, spice and perhaps a touch of roasted meat.  For its relatively modest price, it can cellar for 5-10 more years.  50% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre and 10% Carignan.
