What a joy to discover Syrah that rises nearly to the level of Cote-Rotie in aroma and flavor. It made us fall in love with northern Rhone Syrah all over again.
Description
We usually have to look long and hard to find Syrah this satisfying, so it was a joyful experience when we stumbled upon the 2024 Domaine du Chêne (chêne is the French word for oak tree) Saint-Joseph. It has classic, beautiful blueberry-violet aromas with the same blueberry-tinged flavors. Concentrated, yet retaining its charm, it made us fall in love with northern Rhone Syrah all over again.
