Domaine Jocelyn Raoux 2025 Tavel Rose Cotes Du Rhone
Something wonderful is going on with Tavel. We’ve seen more sales activity in the past two or three years than in previous decades, and its popularity hasn’t been this high since the Continental Cuisine era of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Tavel, the only appellation in France that exclusively produces rosé wine, is located to the west of the Rhone river in the Southern Rhone Valley, not far from Lirac. As you might imagine, tradition demands Tavel be a classic table wine, so most are more substantial in body than the typical quaffing-style of Provence rosé. This is a new producer for us, and it has been joyful to discover what we think will be a popular addition to our rosé portfolio. It’s a gorgeous wine, with a beautiful pink color, made in a more delicate style than most Tavels. Which means we’ll be drinking beauty often this summer.
