Domaine le Sang des Cailloux 2024 Vacqueyras "Azalais", Rhone

When Vacqueyras finally achieved appellation status in 1990, the Férigoule family purchased a rocky vineyard Serge had been working and soon made a wonderful red.  Single-vineyard bottlings followed, then this juicy, attractive biodynamic red named after one of their daughters.  We debuted this wine at our “Chateauneuf-du-Pape & Friends” tasting and it sold out that night!  There was a lot of competition for attention that evening, including some of the Southern Rhone’s mightiest players, yet this Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsaut blend grabbed the spotlight for its deliciousness and affordability.
