Domaine Maratray-Dubreuil 2022 Aloxe-Corton Pinot Noir, Burgundy

This 3^rd generation small family winery is farming everything sustainably in an effort to allow the soils to breathe and be healthy, thus giving us the freshest and most energetic fruit. This 2022 Aloxe-Corton is a true expression of both place, and vintage. 2022 was a mild vintage, offering much relief to the vigneron as they had been getting beat up by difficult vintages for a while now. Here you find delicate, soft fruit with sturdy, but not brutal acidity and tannin. Red fruited, spice, dried herbs, hints of sweet ham with just a hint of mushroom. Quite elegant in the mouth with a firm finish, could easily hold up to big slabs of beef, pork, spiced roasted chicken and gooey cheeses.
