Domaine Vacheron 2025 Sancerre Blanc, Loire Valley

Vacheron is at the pinnacle of Sancerre producers.  I’ve always felt their wine was the Meursault of Sancerre.  Perhaps the suave silky textures take Sancerre in a sophisticated direction without losing the essence of Sauvignon Blanc.  There is something special here.  From hillside vineyards with chalk and flint, the wine offers aromas of grapefruit zest and gunflint.  Flavors of lemons and limes, sea salt and crisp pears are just waiting for salads with goat cheese, oysters or other fresh shellfish.  Of course if you are happy savoring a terrific glass of wine…
