Vacheron, one of the very elite Sancerre producers makes a small amount of highly sought-after rose from its impeccable Pinot Noir vines. We received a small allocation this year.
Description
For the many admirers of Vacheron’s blanc (which I’ve always described as the Meursault of Sancerre), we have a small allocation of rosé to offer our customers. I recall Didier Dagueneau being an admirer of the red wine made from this estate; the quality has always had a sterling reputation. It goes to show that the rosé from impeccable vines should be outstanding, too. This is a delicate wine, dry and invigorating, with aromas of orange blossoms and flavors of red raspberries. The wine was made from a selection of Pinot Noir grapes from an estate vineyard that boasts the regional classic mix of flint and limestone soils.
The Wine Country.
