Fabien Demois 2022 Chinon "Les Deux Rives", Loire Valley

It’s getting harder and harder for us to resist the minerally, structured Cabernet Francs of Chinon in France’s Touraine.  We discovered Fabien Demois’ version recently, and were immediately swept away by its captivating, nearly floral aroma.  Fabien took over the family estate, founded more than 140 years ago, at a young age, becoming the fifth generation of winegrowers in Chézelet.  Solid, clean fruit followed; this is a very good Chinon.  Medium-weight, good structure, priced for everyday use.  Not overly heavy or assertive.  In short, a charming wine with a dry finish.  The importer recommends trying it with roast poultry and marinated beef.
