Frontonio 2021 "Supersonico" Garnacha, Aragon, Spain

Frontonio is a project by Engineer turned Master of Wine Fernando Mora to focus on producing terroir driven wines from old vine Grenache and Macabeo in the Aragon region of Spain.  His ‘Supersonico’ is produced from 80+ year old, higher elevation, Grenache vines with a tiny bit of Macabeo.  This is a gorgeous, complex Grenache wine with enticing floral and berry aromas.  It’s medium bodied with juicy fruit, yet fresh and elegant.  This is quite different from the typical full bodied, oak forward, Grenache wines Spain is known for.  The beautiful and pure fruit takes center stage here with hints of herbs and spice supporting the show.
