Hebrart 2019 Champagne Grand Cru Extra Brut "Rive Gauche-Rive Droite"

This is an exceptional ultra-premium champagne, one of our most exciting discoveries of the year.  Made by Jean-Paul Hébrart, who has been running the estate since 1997.  It’s a 50-50 Chardonnay/Pinot Noir blend from the Grand Cru villages of Avize, Chouilly, Oiry and Aÿ in the Vallée de la Marne.   This special blend is fermented in neutral oak barrels to encourage development.  In the glass, it reveals a medium-straw color and a rich yeasty, bread-y aroma.  Here is a champagne that reminds you it is great wine first, mouth-filling and very full-flavored.  It really delivers. 

70% of Hébrart’s vineyards are planted to Pinot Noir with the remaining 30% to Chardonnay.  The entire house’s annual production is just 12,000 cases, making each bottle a treasure to possess.  The Hébrart wines are truly of both place and person; the kind, welcoming and generous qualities that Jean-Paul Hébrart exudes can be seen in all of his Champagnes.
