Henriet-Bazin NV Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru Champagne

Yet another classic tale of a couple vine growers in Champagne, marrying into neighboring vine owners, or into a family with holdings in desired locations. Seems to have worked out just fine as the Henriet-Bazin wines are truly thrilling in that, “Bone dry/nerdy” style. Made from 100% Pinot Noir, the vines were planted between 1963 and 2015, with 30% reserve wine added for complexity and depth. I get gobs of baked red apple skin with herbal notes and minerals. Great texture on the palate, giving the impression that almost reminds me of tannin. Perfect wine for hearty cured foods, grilled meats, braided game or spiced meats like sausage.
