J. Mourat 2025 Val de Loire Rosé Collection, Loire Valley

“When are you getting in the owl wine?” people are asking.  Well, it’s a little late this year because the winemakers wanted to wait until it was just right before shipping it to us.  Every year it remains one of our customers’ favorite rosés for its delightful blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Negrette.  Grown southwest of Muscadet, this charmer has a light pale pink color and a lovely aroma.  Clean and briskly flavored on the palate, it is sure to please old friends and make new ones this year.  Yes, it still has the owl on the label.  I think it means something, but I forgot what it was.
