JC. Calvet NV Cremant de Bordeaux Brut Classic, Bordeaux

I must admit, after drinking wine for over 55 years, this is the first time I’ve encountered a sparkling Bordeaux, and I was wary.  I needn’t have been.  The unconventional and delightful Cabernet Franc/Merlot blend from Entre-Deux-Mers is a surprising discovery. It is a blanc de noirs, lightly perfumed and clean with attractive fruit; easy-drinking and pleasurable, and quite a value.
