Joseph Voillot 2022 Pommard 1er Cru "Les Pezerolles", Burgundy

There is a good reason Pommard has been one of America’s favorite red Burgundies for 70 years or more.  The wine’s full-bodied, rich character from the unique soils of Pommard may hold the key.  Winemaker Etienne Chaix told us “this is a wine to consume in the winter, while the fireplace is going and the snow is outside.”  Bolder than the 2022 Rugiens, there is a deep, deep aroma of black fruit and a touch of licorice that follows through to the full-flavored body of the wine.  Classic Pommard in all its glory.
