Korbin Kameron 2018 Red Blend, Moon Mountain District, Sonoma County
Opulent, bold, classic elegance-
Inky, complete, and robust. Regal and refined by nature. This is one of those wines that takes me back to when I first got into wine. Conservatively expressive fruit notes. Black cherries, blackberries, cassis. All perfectly ripe, to ever-so-slightly crispy underripe. Held together by a velvety gravitational texture that pulls you in. All this, framed in savory vanilla, chocolate, baking spices, and a whisper of thyme.
Drinking beautifully now- in a few years, magic. Timeless style, well-suited for classic pairings. Charred, grilled red meats, ribeyes to short ribs. Earthy umami-driven dishes, beef bourguignon, mushroom risotto, bò lúc lắc, yakitori. Really, just about anything rich. While I always recommend pairing wine with food, if you’re looking for a solo indulgence, this might be the one.
