Marchand-Tawse 2018 Meursault 1er Cru "Les Genevrieres", Burgundy

This prestigious plot is located at the heart of the 1er cru belt of Meursault, south of the village and next to the "Perrières" parcel. With its stony, limestone soils, it produces wines that are tender and supple from grapes grown in an average of 35 year old vines.  Aging lasts for 16 months in French oak barrels (20% new oak from the Jupilles forest). The wine is then bottled unfined and unfiltered.  Notes of citrus zest, roasted hazelnuts, crushed stone and fragrant white flowers lend charm and typicity to this lovely Meursault, while a precise, chiseled structure and penetrating mineral core offers depth, finesse and length.
