Mathieu Cosme 2021 Vouvray "Les Promenards", Loire Valley

Mathieu Cosme’s grapes are pulled from 60 year old vines grown in Tuffeaux and Silex soils.  Fermented in large, old oak barrels.  This is a soulful dry version of Chenin Blanc, packed with flavor.  With a medium straw color and a characteristic beeswax aroma, there is plenty of acidity to balance the ample fruit, which makes it an inspired choice with scallops, octopus, even raw oysters.
