The finest Champagne we've sampled from Nomine-Renard, the 2019 Special Club is a must-try extravagance, full-flavored and refined.
Description

A half-hour southwest of Epernay and not far from the Cotes de Blancs, the grower Nominé-Renard (named for the merging of two Champagne families) produces solid and agreeable bubblies and one mind-blowing one, and this is that wine.  Their “Special Club” bottling is made up of 50% Chardonnay from Allemant and Villerenard and 50% Pinot Noir from Broyes.  It is a masterful champagne, at times drinking like a fine blanc de blancs, and other times, full-flavored and more penetrating.  Well-balanced and focused, with a solid and lasting core of generous fruit, yet you can still taste the chalk, and all of this in a very elegant style.  One of the most satisfying champagne discoveries of the year.

Winery notes:  “Slightly toasted nose and unfolds on the palate with vibrant freshness and a creamy, layered texture.  Lively acidity brings tension and balance, elevating the wine’s natural richness.  Chardonnay lends bright citrus and white-fleshed fruit, while Pinot Noir contributes depth with notes of red berries and dried fruit.  Hints of pastry, buttery brioche and a touch of honey add complexity, leading to a long, elegant finish with a delicate mineral edge.  This refined cuvée pairs beautifully with elevated dishes such as Bresse chicken in cream sauce, where its roundness and finesse perfectly complement the richness and subtlety of the cuisine.”
