Pago de los Capellanes 2022 Ribera del Duero Crianza, Spain

Ribera del Duero is a prestigious wine region known for its high-quality red wines made from the Tempranillo grape, locally called Tinto Fino or Tinta del País. It's located in the Castilla y León region, along the Duero River, and is characterized by a continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold winters, leading to intense, full-bodied red wines.   The Pago de los Capellanes winery is located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero wine region and its name translates to ‘Land of the Chaplains’ because in the 14^th century the land where the winery Is located was mostly owned by the church as the locals would donate their land to the church as a thank you for their religious services.  This medium to full bodied Tempranillo is brick red in the glass and offers aromas of ripe berry fruits and spice. The palate is rich yet balanced and fresh with flavors of blackberry compote and plum jam with hints of mocha, vanilla baking spices. The oak is prevalent but subtle and the finish is long and spicy.   Ribera del Duero wines pair excellently with roasted or grilled meats, especially beef and lamb.   Grape: 100% Tempranillo
